Notifio vs Stekkies

Stekkies scans a thousand sites once a minute on your behalf. Notifio scans the handful you actually care about, twice a minute, from your own machine.

The short version

Stekkies buys you breadth and an always-on service you do not have to think about. Notifio buys you depth on the searches you have chosen, a check interval twice as fast, and a single payment instead of a monthly one. For a short broad search Stekkies is reasonable; for a long or specific one the subscription outgrows the licence within weeks.

Notifio

one payment, never renews£20

Stekkies advertises 14 days risk-free with a money-back guarantee, and says it scans more than a thousand websites every minute. Its own pricing page lists no permanently free tier.

Prices read from Stekkies’s own pages in September 2026 and quoted as published: Stekkies pricing. Check them before you buy either product, because theirs can change, and ours is the one number on this page we control.

Where Stekkies is the better buy

Breadth you would never assemble by hand. A thousand sites is not a number you reach by pasting URLs, and if your requirements are loose, say any decent two-bedroom in the Randstad under €1,800, that breadth is genuinely the right tool. Notifio is the wrong shape for a search that vague, because you would be building thirty monitors to approximate it.

Always-on, again. Stekkies keeps scanning while your laptop is in a drawer. Notifio does not, and no amount of the other advantages changes that.

A gentler start. There is nothing to install and nothing to keep updated; you fill in a profile and it works.

Where Notifio is the better buy

On the searches you actually care about, twice the rate. Stekkies advertises a sweep every minute across everything it covers; Notifio checks each of your monitors every 30 seconds by default, and you can set it lower on a site that warrants it. When a room in a Dutch student city collects its first ten replies inside five minutes, that difference is not academic.

A specific search beats a broad one, and Notifio is built for the specific kind. If you know you want the Oud-West polygon you drew on Funda, filtered to furnished, under €1,600, then a crawler that finds you everything in Amsterdam is not doing you a favour, it is just giving you a busier inbox and the same outcome.

The login-only sites, again, are the real gap. Stekkies cannot sign in as you. The competition on a logged-in Kamernet view, a Facebook Marketplace search, or a single agency's own page is a fraction of the competition on the public aggregate, and those are exactly the pages Notifio is happiest watching.

And then the price. €29.95 for a month against £20 for good. If your search takes two months, Stekkies has cost you roughly double the entire lifetime cost of Notifio.

Common questions

Is Stekkies free?

Its own pricing page lists paid plans only, starting at €29.95 for one month and falling to €16.65 a month on the three-month plan, with 14 days risk-free. Third-party write-ups have described a free tier at various times, which is one reason we link to the source and date it.

Is Notifio faster than Stekkies?

On the searches you have set up, yes. Stekkies advertises scanning every minute; Notifio checks each monitor every 30 seconds and lets you change it. Stekkies covers far more sites, so it is faster in the sense of finding things you never asked for.

Which should I use for a student room?

If you are watching Kamernet, Roommatch and a university board, Notifio suits that well, because those are few, specific and often login-gated. If you have no idea which sites your city uses, start with the breadth of an aggregator.

Can I run both?

Yes, and for a hard search it is a sensible month: an aggregator for coverage while your machine is asleep, Notifio for the precise and logged-in searches. The difference is what happens in month two, when one of them stops charging you.
