Where RentSlam is the better buy
WhatsApp. If the difference between seeing a listing in four minutes and forty minutes is whether the notification reaches your phone, an email is the wrong channel and RentSlam's is the right one. Notifio sends email and a desktop notification, which assumes you are near the machine or near your inbox.
Always-on is the other. RentSlam is a service running on somebody else's infrastructure. It does not stop when your laptop lid closes, and for somebody searching from a phone with no computer to dedicate to the job, that is decisive.
And it asks nothing of you technically. Fill in a profile, receive alerts. Notifio expects you to go and build the search on each site and copy the URL out of the address bar, which is easy but is not nothing.
Where Notifio is the better buy
Cost, by a wide margin over any realistic search. One month of RentSlam is €29.95. Notifio is £20 and does not renew, so the second month costs nothing, and so does the sixth. Precision is the second. A search profile on an aggregator is an approximation of what you want, expressed in their fields. A URL is exactly what you want, expressed in the site's own filters, including the ones an aggregator has no field for, like a polygon you drew on a map or a filter that only exists on that one portal.
Reach is the third, and it is the one people underestimate. Aggregators crawl public pages. The places with the least competition are the ones that are not fully public: sites that only show listings to signed-in users, Facebook Marketplace, a single agency's own site, a housing cooperative's members page. Notifio uses a browser session you created, so those are all just monitors.
Privacy is the fourth. Your searches, your logins and the details auto-reply uses stay on your computer. We hold your email address, your licence token and a billing record, and that is the whole list.

Listings from providers that charge their own subscription, which you can enable in your RentSlam profile but must pay for separately. Notifio has no equivalent concept: any page you can open in a browser can be monitored, and there is no second bill.
Do I need to keep a computer running for Notifio?
