Rentbird's plans are prepaid blocks rather than a rolling monthly bill, and it advertises a full refund if you are not happy. The subscription covers up to five searches and includes AI-generated response templates and one search-buddy invitation.

Where Rentbird is the better buy
It runs in the cloud, and that is not a small thing. Rentbird's bots do not care whether your laptop is shut, out of battery, or in a bag on a train. Notifio only monitors while the machine it is installed on is awake and online, so if you do not have a desktop or a laptop you are willing to leave running, Rentbird will catch listings that Notifio sleeps through. That is the single most important difference between the two products and it is the one we lose.
It also needs less from you. You tell Rentbird what you are looking for and its crawler handles the rest across the sites it covers. Notifio asks you to build each search on each site and paste the URL. That is a five-minute job per site, but it is a job, and one that assumes you are comfortable copying something that looks like a query string.
And it has a phone app. If you want a push notification on a locked screen rather than an email, that is a real advantage over an email-and-desktop-notification tool.
Where Notifio is the better buy
The arithmetic is the obvious one. Rentbird's cheapest entry is €29 for a single month; Notifio is £20 once, which is less than that first month and is also the last money you spend. Dutch rental searches are not famously short, and Rentbird's own three-month plan exists because three months is a realistic search, so at three months you are €49 in with them and still £20 in with us.
The less obvious one is control over what is being watched. Rentbird watches its crawl of sites it can reach. Notifio watches the exact page your filters produce, which means a drawn map area on Funda, a logged-in Kamernet session, a Facebook Marketplace search, a single letting agency's own listings page, a university housing board. Those last ones matter: a crawler cannot log in as you, so the places where competition is thinnest are precisely the places an aggregator cannot go.
And nothing about your search leaves your computer. There is no account holding your budget, your neighbourhoods and your move-in date, and no third party with your login sessions. Notifio's servers hold an email address, a licence token and a billing record, and that is the entire list.

Does Notifio work while my laptop is closed?

Can Rentbird monitor sites that need a login?
A crawler cannot sign in as you, so sites gated behind an account, such as Facebook Marketplace, some Kamernet views and certain agency portals, are outside what any aggregator can reach. Notifio uses a session you create yourself in its built-in browser.
Can I use both?
People do, especially for a short intense search: a month of a cloud service for the always-on coverage, plus Notifio for the specific sites and logged-in searches the crawler cannot reach. After that month you cancel the subscription and keep the licence.
