Help & Support

Everything you need to get the most out of Notifio.

Getting started

  1. 1
Purchase & activation email. After purchase you will receive an email from noreply@notifio.app with your activation token. Open Notifio, enter the email address you used at checkout, paste the token, and click Activate.
  2. 2
Add a monitoring URL. Go to a rental listing site in your browser and set up your search filters exactly as you want them. Copy the URL from the address bar and paste it into Notifio. Give it a name (e.g. Amsterdam <€1500) so you can identify it later.
  3. 3
Log in on sites that require it. Sites like Facebook Marketplace require you to be logged in. Click Open in Browser inside Notifio to open the built-in browser, log in to the site, then close it. Notifio will reuse that session for monitoring.
  4. 4
Keep the app running. Notifio needs to be running and connected to the internet to detect new listings. Enable Launch at login in settings so it starts automatically with your computer.

How monitoring works

Notifio loads the search results page for each URL you have added, on a regular interval. It compares the listings it finds against the ones it saw last time. Any new listings trigger an email alert.

The desktop app does the monitoring directly from your machine using your own internet connection and browser sessions — no cloud servers are involved in the scraping itself.

Email alerts are sent via our server so they arrive even if your computer is locked or the screen is off, as long as the app is running.

Email alerts

Alert emails come from noreply@notifio.app. If you are not seeing them, check your spam or promotions folder.

Gmail — move alerts to Primary

Gmail sometimes puts Notifio alerts in the Promotions tab. Here is how to fix that:

  1. 1
Open a Notifio email in Gmail. Find the email in Promotions (or Spam) and open it.
  2. 2
Click the three-dot menu → "Move to tab". In the top-right of the email, click the three dots (⋮) and select Move to tab → Primary.
  3. 3
Confirm when prompted. Gmail will ask if you want to do this for all future emails from this sender. Click Yes. Gmail will now deliver all Notifio alerts directly to your Primary inbox.

Gmail — turn on Promotions notifications (quick fix)

Alternatively, enable notifications for all Gmail tabs so you get notified even if the email lands in Promotions:

  1. 1
Open Gmail Settings. Click the gear icon ⚙ → See all settings.
  2. 2
Go to the General tab. Scroll down to the Desktop notifications section.
  3. 3
Enable All Mail notifications. Select All new mail notifications on. This will notify you for every email, regardless of tab.
  4. 4
Save changes. Scroll to the bottom and click Save Changes.

Other email clients

If you use Outlook, Apple Mail, or another client, add noreply@notifio.app to your contacts or safe senders list. This tells your email provider the address is trusted and prevents it from being filtered.

Session expired / Login Required email

If Notifio sends you a Login Required email for a site, it means your session on that site has expired or you were logged out.

To fix it: open Notifio, click Open in Browser on the affected monitor, log back in to the site, then close the browser. Monitoring will resume automatically.

This happens most often with Facebook Marketplace, which logs sessions out after a period of inactivity. Logging back in usually keeps the session alive for several weeks.

Tips for best results

  • Narrow your search filters. The more specific your filters on the listing site (price, location, size), the more relevant your alerts will be and the less noise you get.
  • Enable Launch at login. Found in Notifio settings. Ensures the app starts automatically so you never miss a window when your computer restarts.
  • Check your internet connection. Monitoring runs from your machine. If your connection drops, Notifio will resume automatically once it is restored.
  • Keep the browser session fresh. For sites that require login (Facebook Marketplace, etc.), re-open the in-app browser every few weeks to refresh your session before it expires.
  • Add the alert email to your contacts. Adding noreply@notifio.app to your contacts is the single fastest way to ensure alerts always land in your inbox.
