What Kamernet's own alerts do, and where they leave you
Kamernet lets you save a search and get alert emails about new homes matching it, described as realtime updates, and that part costs nothing. Realtime is a claim about when Kamernet starts sending, not when you can read it, because the message is still built by a notification job and handed to a bulk mailer that is sending the same room to everybody else who saved a similar search. The catch is then at the other end of the funnel: to react to an advert and message the landlord you need an active Premium subscription. So the free alert tells you, eventually, about a room you cannot yet reply to, and the clock is running while you are on the payment page.
That matters more on Kamernet than on a portal for whole apartments. Kamernet's supply skews towards student rooms in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Groningen, Rotterdam and Eindhoven, where a room can collect dozens of responses in the time it takes to make coffee. Position in the landlord's inbox is most of the game, and everybody who saw the listing at the same time as you is competing for the same top three slots.
Notifio does not replace your Kamernet account, and you will still need one to send the message. What it changes is when you find out. Instead of waiting on Kamernet's alert cycle, you are watching the search results page itself, and the email lands with a direct link to the advert.

Setting up a Kamernet monitor

Build the search on Kamernet first
Open Kamernet, choose your city, and set price, room type and size until the results list is what you actually want to be woken up for. A search that is too broad will email you about rooms in the wrong half of the city at 3am.

Copy the URL from the address bar
Kamernet puts filters in the query string, including minRent, maxRent, property type and city. Copy the whole thing, including everything after the question mark.

Paste it into Notifio and name it
Add it as a monitor and give it a name like “Kamernet Amsterdam <900”, so that when the email arrives at midnight you know which search fired without opening anything.

Log in once through the in-app browser
Kamernet shows more to a signed-in session. Use Open in Browser inside Notifio, sign in to Kamernet once, and close it. Notifio reuses that session for every later check.
What to know about monitoring Kamernet

- Not strictly required to see results, but sign in once through Notifio's built-in browser so the page you monitor is the page you would see yourself.
- How the page loads
- Kamernet renders its results with JavaScript. Notifio drives a real browser engine rather than fetching HTML, so the listings load the same way they do for you.
- Auto-reply on this site
- Auto-reply can fill in Kamernet's reaction form, but sending it still requires an active Premium subscription on your account. Notifio cannot get around that, and would not try.
Kamernet alerts: common questions
Do I still need Kamernet Premium if I use Notifio?
Yes, if you want to message landlords. Kamernet requires an active Premium subscription to respond to an advert. Notifio changes how fast you find out about the room, not Kamernet's rules about who can reply to it.
How is this different from saving a search on Kamernet?
A saved search puts you in Kamernet's notification queue. Notifio watches the search results page itself every 30 seconds from your own machine, so nothing sits in a queue between the listing being published and you finding out about it.
Can I monitor several Kamernet cities at once?
Yes. Each search URL is its own monitor, so a search for Utrecht and a search for Amsterdam run side by side and email you separately. There is no limit on how many you add.
Will Kamernet notice that I am monitoring a search?
Notifio polls at ordinary browsing speed with randomised delays between checks, roughly the traffic of a person who keeps a tab open and refreshes it. It does not scrape the site wholesale or hit anything other than the search page you gave it.
Most people watch more than one site
